Photo Booth hire Newmarket

5 Best Newmarket Event Venues to Hire (and the Perfect Photo Booth for Each)

Newmarket is one of Auckland’s best spots for an event. It has plenty of parking, great food and bars on your doorstep, and venues that range from heritage villas to rooftop courtyards. Whether you’re planning a birthday, a product launch or the work Christmas party, the venue sets the tone.

The booth matters just as much. A photo booth gives guests something to do and gives you content to share afterwards. But not every booth suits every room, so we’ve matched each venue below with the booth we’d bring.

Quick tip before you book: every Kookaboo booth needs a clear floor area of at least 2m x 2m (3m x 2m is ideal), and the 360 Photo Booth needs at least 3m x 3m. Ask your venue about space, power and load-in access early.

1. Studio Cassini: best for boutique launches and intimate celebrations

Tucked up a flight of stairs on Crowhurst Street, Studio Cassini is a boutique space with glossy wooden floors, high ceilings and a stylish bar. The venue describes itself as a blank canvas, and it’s well suited to cocktail functions, small parties and brand activations.

Best booth: Giant Magic Mirror. The interactive mirror suits a polished space like this. Guests get animations and signatures on screen, and prints are included. Mention the stairs when you book so our team can plan the load-in.

Address: 23a Crowhurst Street, Newmarket

2. L’affare Melrose: best for industrial-style parties

This industrial-style space on Melrose Street covers about 100 m² and holds up to 80 guests standing or 50 seated. It has plenty of character and works well for birthdays, gigs, launches and Christmas parties.

Best booth: Classic Booth. A classic booth fits neatly into a compact room, and the exposed industrial backdrop looks great in photos. Instant prints are included, so guests leave with a keepsake. For a smaller guest list, the Glam Cam also works well here.

Address: 22 Melrose Street, Newmarket

3. Something & Social Rooftop: best for big, lively groups

Set on level 4 at 309 Broadway, this rooftop venue is listed as suitable for 10 to 200 guests across roughly 280 m². It has a courtyard area, set menus for groups and a relaxed bar-and-dining feel. The listing advertises free venue hire, so check minimum spend and food and drink packages.

Best booth: 360 Photo Booth. Big groups and open space are exactly what the 360 booth likes. Guests step on the platform, the camera spins around them, and everyone gets a shareable slow-motion video. Remember it needs at least 3m x 3m, and check weather cover and power if you’re using an outdoor section.

Address: Level 4, 309 Broadway, Newmarket

4. Highwic: best for weddings and garden-party style events

Highwic is a Victorian-style heritage property on Gillies Avenue, and it’s a charming backdrop for weddings, milestone birthdays and special occasions. Heritage venues often have specific rules about equipment and floor protection, so speak to the venue first.

Best booth: Glam Cam. Our roaming Glam Cam has a small footprint and doesn’t need a fixed backdrop. That makes it a good choice for historic rooms and gardens where space or rules are tighter. Prints are optional, so you can keep things digital if you prefer.

Address: 40 Gillies Avenue, Newmarket

5. Glengarry Newmarket: best for corporate functions and wine-led evenings

Glengarry offers a range of spaces that can be tailored to your function, along with a food and wine focus. That makes it a natural fit for client evenings, team celebrations and tastings.

Best booth: Classic Booth or Giant Magic Mirror. Corporate guests love custom-branded prints and on-screen branding. Both booths can carry your logo and event theme, so every photo doubles as brand exposure. Planning something bigger? Take a look at our brand activation options.

Location: Newmarket, Auckland

Tips for hosting a photo booth at a Newmarket venue

  1. Ask about load-in early. Stairs, lifts and loading access all affect setup time.
  2. Check power and floor space. Confirm there’s a power point near your chosen spot.
  3. Pick a high-traffic location. Place the booth near the bar or entrance, not in a dead-end corner.
  4. Book the date early. December and the Christmas party season fill up fast.
  5. Customise it. Add your logo, colours and a print design. We have 300+ free templates to choose from.
